Dove Evolution, Part 2

As a piece of Dove’s worldwide Campaign for Real Beauty, Ogilvy has launched Onslaught, a follow up to their former award-winning Dove Evolution. This time the focus is put on the young girls growing up in a world where they are bombarded with images of what the beauty industry defines as beautiful.

Place your bets now. Will Onslaught have as much viral appeal as Dove Evolution or even go for as many rounds at the comical spoof, Parodia?

  1. i don’t think this will have as much viral appeal, but i can’t honestly say why. in my mind it appeals to a totally different aspect of being a woman and really emphasizes the negative effects the media can have on such pure minds as a ten year old girls. it’s not focused on body types that you aren’t necessarily used to seeing bared on television and in print. in the previoius campaign i think the appeal was in the shock of seeing real women vs. models, while if this takes off i think it will be from the pure shock of the media bombardment in today’s society that you can’t put into perspective until such an onslaught on display.
