I just happened to stumble upon this. Thanks for reminding me of a game that frustrated me greatly as a child! :-)

You're very welcome. Thanks for taking the time to do the interview.

I'm glad to hear that the toy industry is taking the time to give credit to their designers and it's great to hear that you get to play an honored role in the celebration of the Inventor of the Year. That's exciting!

Thanks again.

Chris, a quick note to thank you very much for your post & to thank everyone above for their comments. You may be interested to know that the Toy Industry has decided to acknowledge & celebrate the designers of toys and games, rather than have them work incognito as has been the case in the past. One must assume that the industry has come to realize that promoting its authors makes marketing sense! TAGIE (toy & games inventors' expo) takes place in Chicago on 20th Nov. I have been asked to present the award to the Inventor of the Year at its gala dinner. What fun! I'm off to Chicago tomorrow!

Very interesting! I always assumed Jenga was just another product made up by a toy company. It is very cool that it came from a family game, and I'm excited that we can all be part of that family. It's a great game!

The best part that hit home:
"The second moment came when I begged Hasbro not to publish a range of ‘Jenga wooden puzzles and games’. I was certain that this would be entirely missing the point that Jenga was known as a very specific game."

Great interview!

Cheers,
Kelly

Chris, great interview. I must admit that I have never heard of Jenga. However, I will rectify that today at the mall. I love the passion that came through in this short article.

I love the expression, "or carry out thought experiments" ...

-ski
