My feeling is that social media is not taken seriously in most corporation at a strategic level.

It has entered the corporate world through PR and agency whereas in parallel, employees are engaging on a daily basis in &quot;virtual third places&quot;.

So there are these efforts on &quot;brand monitoring ...&quot; which are outsourced or left to corporate PR people while the real change is happening behind the curtain when engineers, marketers start their own personal blog (with huge work related content), discuss in LinkedIn and Facebook.

This is why I like the &quot;consciously&quot;
